Katherine E. Avery, Founder
Katherine Avery is the founder of Chimayo Consulting, LLC, a boutique consultancy specializing in strategic risk management, operational resilience, and organizational transformation. With over 20 years of experience supporting risk and operations functions across Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies, Katherine brings deep expertise in navigating complex, global environments.
Throughout her career, Katherine has led enterprise-wide initiatives in highly regulated industries, helping organizations enhance their risk frameworks, streamline operations, and adapt to shifting regulatory and market dynamics. Her work has spanned multiple continents, allowing her to bring a global perspective to the challenges facing modern enterprises.
Prior to founding Chimayo Consulting, Katherine held senior roles in risk management and operational leadership, where she consistently drove measurable improvements in efficiency, compliance, and resilience. Her approach blends strategic thinking with pragmatic execution, enabling organizations to not only manage risk—but turn it into a competitive advantage.
Today, through Chimayo Consulting, Katherine partners with clients to deliver tailored solutions that align with their unique business objectives, culture, and risk appetite. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and holds certifications in Operational Risk Management and Third-Party Risk Management.
